If that sounds like a fable it's not. When photographing the egret on our little lake recently, I saw a turtle on the bank sunning himself. Well, the egret spotted him also and started moving towards him, the turtle also spotted the egret and he hightailed it for the water to get away. The image shows the turtle in the lower left about to go under.

That egret would have a hard time swallowing that turtle. If it were possible, I'd like to see it! Excellent shot, Kathy.

See that the turtle is acting like a stealthy submarine (performing an emergency escape dive) Kathy.

See that there's nothing wrong with your reaction speed as well, lol. Very good one!

Excellent timing to capture the evolving scene, Kathy. If the turtle were on land, he wouldn't have been so lucky. Well done.

I would have thought that a turtle is a bit too big even for the big egret. Unusual and very nice capture Kathy.

A nice capture of the egret, Kathy, I think the turtle might have been hard to swallow, but it would have made an amusing photo.
