I spotted this mallard when shooting spring flowers recently at one of the ponds nearby. He had the goofiest eyes I've seen on a duck around here. He was not paired up either as are most of the waterfowl around here - he was all by himself. So please open this up to the larger version to see what I mean about his eyes.

Kathy, I like to agree with you about its eyes. I have the feeling that it's the most intelligent duck I've seen. Only an IQ-test test can prove whether I'm right or wrong, lol.

Thanks for this very fine Dē (Daffy Duck) image.

Regards, Cornelius. .

I am glad you weren't shooting spring ducks, Kathy.
Oh wait, you were. There is a man from the conservation department that would like to have a word with you.
Tell him you were framed. No, the duck is framed.
Oh, forget it!

The mallard are mostly monogamous birds but have a fling now and then. This male apparently has not found a partner. Good capture Kathy.

Those beady eyes are scaring off the girls - they look slightly manic but he is a most handsome fellow :)

It's his new contact lenses. The myopic fool was sidling up to a pigeon before he got them. A nice capture of the goofy bird, Kathy.
