That's the name of this glorious hybrid tea rose. It's the only sunshine I'll see today as it is cold, windy and drizzly more like November than June. My husband calls these cold spells in June Blackberry Winter 'cause country folk noticed that's when the blackberry bushes bloomed. Here's an explanation from Appalachian folklore: "Oldtimers also knew that blackberries (Rubus fruticosus) need a cold snap to set buds on the blackberry canes, so as sure as night follows day, there will be a cold snap when the blackberries bloom, called Blackberry Winter. It comes with a somewhat less severe return of a continental polar air mass after the maritime tropical air masses have begun to dominate the weather."

These should all go at once to our Richie who likes yellow best!
My favourite darker shade of yellow is that in the budding rose.
Lovely, butter-yellow roses...

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
