Taken at the prairie preserve - also know as widow's flower. A little leaf hopper jumped on while I was shooting.

I can tell you had to deal with the lighting and I think you handled it well, I have some of these at my house that come up every year. Tigs♥ =^..^=

What a bright colour! The light and shadows make them look even prettier Kathy.

The little woods like scene, created by the shadows in the middle, is quite eye catching.

Perfect lighting Kathy. Thought at first view that you had used a so called 'fill-in flash', but the shadowed area's make this unlikely now. Perfect tones as well. You've provided us again with a very fine one!

Magnificent close up, I see a grasshopper on one of the blossoms and maybe even a small bee on the one on the right with his wings straight out. Beautiful colours and lighting

Gorgeous colour and a bonus to get the wee leaf hopper in the shot :)

Kathy - It looks like a few friends are enjoying the blooms. The deep blue makes these tricky to photograph - you got a good one of them. Ours die back at this time of year, then have a resurgent growth in the fall until the hard frost. Thad
