I'm fascinated by Gingko leaves in autumn - they are shaped like no other tree's leaves. The Gingko, also called the Maidenhair tree, is known as a living fossil as they are some of the oldest trees on the planet and they have no tree relatives - they are singular and unique. We have only one on the entire 18 acres of our condo property and it's in front of the building where I live. I assume the only reason it's here is because this property used to be a former tree nursery and it was left. I'm glad it was.

Never seen this before Kathy. The shape is that of the fans the geishas use in Japan. Lovely and unusual capture.

The background works nicely in this photo, Kathy. They almost look like Chanterelle mushrooms. Good one.

Kathy, like many of the others, I've never seen a Ginko tree as well. I agree with Doug that they have the appearance of Chanterelle mushrooms.
Are they edible? If not, they must have been made from pure gold, lol.
Wonderful composition!
