This is a very large hand carved jade cachepot studded with rubies. The block of jade was chosen carefully for the varying colors of green and white in one piece. This is Chinese and dates to the 1700's and of course is extremely valuable - I photographed it in a locked glass case at the museum.

Lot of expert handiwork involved in this Kathy. It is very beautiful and the shining colour tones make this a wonderful piece of work.

---and of course is extremely valuable---

Kathy, often I don't have the comparable amount of money in my wallet, LOL!!!!

If this precious piece of art can be bought, it will cost a fortune.

I can't see any reflection caused by glass, so perfectly captured.

Why were you in a locked glass case in the museum? Was it part of some mage trick you were performing? Perhaps the levitating teapot trick.
A great close up on the doohickey, Kathy. Good focus and colours in the photo. Good luck in your new career.
