My favorite greenhouse has an area tucked in the back where dying plants are put and also what I call misfit plants. One of the gardeners explained to me that these plants don't conform to standards in color etc. and so get relegated to this back area as they are unlikely to sell. It's the first place I head as I've seen some very interesting plants back there and photographed more than one of them. The hydrangeas in particular seem to end up here for color problems - hence the hydrangea of many colors seen here. This is not just coming into bloom it's in full bloom and is supposed to be deep pink. I rather like it just the way it is - I've always been a bit of a feisty rebel too and nobody puts me in the back room! One for Wacky Wednesday.

A beagle just won top dog at the Westminster Dog Show so there is hope for your misfit flowers, Kathy.
The back area needs love too.
Great shot.

Kathy, I also like it - nature throws us a curve at times and can develop into a thing of beauty!!! The hydrangea has quite an assortment of colors and they all blend in so well together. Keep checking on that back room. Excellent work - Well done!!!

I am afraid that if I go to a greenhouse and pull out a camera, they would have me arrested for being a spy or something! That would be my luck! Beautiful array of colors in this shot, Kathy. Very nice shot.

It's a kind of 'hydrangea outlaw' (lol), but beautiful and charming as well Kathy.
To get the hydrangea in the desired color often calcium oxide or aluminum sulfate is added to the soil. By metered addition of sodium carbonate hydrangea flowers can even get the colors of the rainbow.

Good one for Wacky Wednesday.

I like this acid trip of colours in this standout bloom that deserves front row status. A great find and capture, Kathy.
