One of many type of dogwood trees - this one is a summer bloomer - it's just starting as you can see from the green flower heads lower on the tree. The flower heads are long and more flat - this head I shot was about a foot long. The trees are deciduous and rapid growing - at their peak they are 30-50' tall.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

When I was growing up, we had dogwoods everywhere in the backyard woods. They were a sure sign of springtime and warmer temps. Well done, Kathy.

This a good one Kathy, the shadow play, the color capture of the white is very good, and the green makes a great contrast. tigs=^..^=

Kathy, I thought at first sight that these were the flowers of the Sambucus canadensis, as I never saw a Cornus controversa aka 'wedding cake tree' here (althoug Wiki shows an image of the Cornus controversa 'variegata' in the National Botanic Garden of Belgium).
Amazing and wonderful capture to me! Thanks for that my friend.

Lovely shot - I have never heard of a dogwood like this. I'll have to search this area and see if they grow here. Nice close up Kathy.

I love the way the blossoms appear to float in front of me. A beautiful clear capture and an interesting tree (I looked it up :) )

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Are there just as many kids of dogwood trees as there are breeds of dogs? The blossoms look fantastic on this one along with the leaves. Beautiful sunlight hitting them, too. Excellent capture, Kathy.

What a beautiful shot showing us the new developing blossoms, superb lighting and colour. Would love to see this when the blooms are a little more open - you sure are the master of capturing flowers
