This is a manipulation of one of my photos of spring crocus. I read the discussion in the topics about what is really manipulation and what isn't and I also went back through the discussion board to read to different discussions on manipulation. Although none of my picture had parts replaced I do consider this so substantially different from the original that I believe it is a manipulation. My entry for the contest.

The definition of manipulation seems quite simple to me. You have nailed it, Kathy. Best of luck in the contest!

Good lighting and sharp focus on the crocuses Kathy. Manipulation, if you say so. If you didn't mention it no one would think so.

I think it turned out really nice, and I suppose each has a different view of what a manipulation is, I'm staying out of that thought process. Good luck though in the contest. tigs=^..^=

Changing a photograph into a painting definitely is manipulation, Kathy. Take it from someone who used to spend hours and hours sitting on a stool in front of a stretched canvas, laboriously painting with tiny brushes, even mixing minute spots of a particular color on the knees of my jeans (which are now enshrined on the wall of my studio). I get a real charge out of the various filters in modern photo editing applications. So good luck in the contest.

Happy Trails.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
