This is also known as "flowering maple" due the resemblance of the plants leaves to maple leaves, However it is not related to maple, it is in the mallow family as are rose of Sharon, rose mallow and hollyhocks. My Fx2 for this week.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

A very cool and unique flower Kathy - love the color and its most interesting center - the green leaves in the background do look like maple leaves - beautiful shot and nicely presented!!!!!!!!!
