This is our Memorial Day weekend and I had an experience this week that made me appreciate the sacrifices other generations made for us. My mother who is 90 was having breakfast with her friend who is 89 and he was wearing his WWII baseball cap as he always does. A younger man came to their table and shook his hand and thanked him for his service. He himself had served in Operation Desert Storm. After a few moments he left them and went to the register and paid for their meal. Their waitress came and told them. So let's thank all our veterans who gave so much for us. This deep red rose is my remembrance for our foofy day.
