This is a new and very popular variety of celosia. A really intense fuchsia shade and the style resembles wheat stalks. This was taken early in the morning at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
I know very little about flowers, but I do know celosia when I see celosia and this is not celosia. It is wheat from the magic land of Oz. It looks like regular wheat until Dorothy walks by in her Ruby red slippers, and then it magically turns colors as the Munchkins sing about The Merry Old Land of Oz
I don't know how you can fix it Kathy, but you're able to provide us again with a very nice surprise. Have blushes on my cheeks (for shame) now because I have to tell you again that this species is unknown to me, LOL!!!!!! Wonderful capture 'signed' with your typical trademark. Compliments, my friend!
