If you're following my trek around the botanic garden we've now crossed onto Evening Island. This is a steep hill to climb up on the trail around the island. The left hillside was covered with white cleome or spider flower and sunflowers. On the right a mound of our native Illinois coneflowers. Images of those last two upcoming. The sky was changing at this point from sun and bright blue to cloudy and overcast. By the time we left the garden that day it was drizzling.

I like how this fills the frame with all that greenery...the lean of those 2 tall trees in the background reminds me of bonsai trees surrounded with other trees and shrubbery...nicely captured, Kathy.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Great series, Kathy. This may be a contradiction in words: it's a very interesting series too.
Thanks for being the well informed guide on this tour trough the Botanic Garden!

i have been following, I really need to take a rest, this leg of mine(not to be a whinner) your killing me going up hill :)

too bad about the skies, this shot would have been a great one with some blues up there, i might have even pushed the leg to get to the top. now rain too? OH BOY! OK lets do this. right behind ya.
this is very beautiful place you took the time to show us. i like the trees at the top. looks like giant bonsa trees...to me anyways.

Who's bright idea was it to cross spiders and flowers? I'm getting my shoe ready just in case they attack. A nice capture of the scene, Kathy. We can hopefully rest in the shade of the pines.
