This is PJM rhododendron -it is the most common one I see as it was specifically developed for the northern climbs of the Midwest and New England. It survives our harsh winters and blooms profusely in the spring. Many azalea and rhododendron you see in the southern USA cannot survive up north.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Kathy, the specific development (hardening to survive the severe winters) had not minimized its beauty, it's on the contrary however, resulting in a feast for the eyes.
A floral fairy tale, my friend.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
