This is a hybridized version of the milkweed we see in the mid summer to late fall. A favorite plant of monarchs.

huh? i did not know this! i though the tall wild stuff with pods in my fields, on the property here was the only kind....and it sure doesn't have color like these. thanks for sharing the infor and the picture.
