This is a hellebore and they can start blooming as early as February hence the common name "Lenten Rose". We recently had 18.6" of snow so they are definitely not blooming yet here but maybe somewhere. This is my Fx2 for this week.

Kathy, I've read on the net: "Despite names such as 'winter rose', 'Christmas rose', and 'Lenten rose', hellebores are not closely related to the rose family".

A really beautiful flower Kathy - the colors are amazing - nice lighting that brought out the texture in the petals - Great Capture!!!!!!!! p.s. I guess spring can't arrive soon enough.
