I drove into the north side of the city of Chicago on Thursday to an old sausage shop. Next to the store were a couple of very old white crab trees just starting to bloom. I found this shot interesting as a crab apple from last year somehow survived the winter and was there withered up and next to the new blossoms.

It's been ages since I have seen these blossoms. Down here, we don't get a deep freeze so can't grow apples.
