The true name is angelonia but they are frequently called summer snapdragons as they bear a resemblance to true snap dragons which are a cooler weather lover. They are generally found in pinks, white and blue/lavender shades. This was a mixed planting of pink and white but I liked the lighting on the pink ones.

Kathy, I've read on Wiki, that Angelonia, a snapdragon-like flower, occurs from Mexico to Argentina.
If this is right, it's not amazing to me that I've never seen these flowers.
I think however that in your country this species is cultivated as ornamental plant.
