You might not have realized it by the name but these owls burrow in the ground and they aren't much larger than your hand. Very small owl.

To be pernickety, the DOF is rather too far forward but he does look at the viewer as if sizing one up for food. The offsetting of him works well.

In my mind i think the DOF is dead on if you whanted a face shot it's perfect looks 3D great job. I looked at some of your other photos very nice.
