Taken in Little Talbot Island, near Amelia Island, Florida. The bird was a good distance from me, so even at 200mm I had to crop the image a bit resulting in a loss of image quality. Thanks for viewing.
I want your lens if you can get this shot from 200m. I like the colours and lighting in this photo and the slight vignetting effect around the edges created by the shadows. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
Loss of image quality? Whatchoo' talkin' 'bout, Willis? Attention, anyone looking only briefly at this photo... you HAVE to enlarge it to see the crane hiding in the rushes. This is an excellent photo and I'm stealing it for my favorites file. The layers of elements, colors, textures, and focus from top to bottom are quite good, all on their own, but the crane is the exclamation point in this sentence you've captured. The strong focus is in the perfect place, creating a sliver of realism in the middle of a watercolor painting. From my perspective, you can ignore that lousy 55 and add 20 points... you've earned it. Thanks for allowing us to see it.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
Very cool indeed. Ive just been on holiday to the Norfolk Broads in England and it looks very similar. I saw quite a few herons but never one visible in the reeds like this :)
