A member of a migrating flock. I was actually trying to get a picture of a different one in a tree above when he landed right behind me. Taken this past July with a Canon 300D(EF 100mm).
Nice shot of a fantastic bird! We get them here but only in the top of cedars, I never really got a close-up look before.
And a nice clear image too, good reflexes!
Thank You.
This is probably one of the best bird photos I have ever seen. The composition is superb - I can almost "feel" the silky softness of the feathers. The colors are captured perfectly. Definitely a 10 and in my favs. Thank you for posting this image! ~ Jan

Wow, this image has it all. Great composition, color, lighting, depth of field...the list goes on. Really shows the attitude these birds have...perfect!
what a beautiful bird!!!! thank you for capturing it for us all to enjoy. it is breath taking-it is probably one of my most favorite. we have our great god jehovah to thank for giving us the beauty all around us to enjoy -thanks again for that lovely picture. sincerely, mary
I have not seen one of these since I moved five miles across town! What a beautiful shot. The berries that you caught him with add bursts of color and I like the DOF that lets the foreground plants blur. Feels more like we're spying that way.
Very Nice Image I wish I had a better zoom on my camera birds just won't come close enough lol but I know how to fix it so it's only half as bad but your Image is just stunningly good I really like it keep it up
