I took this photo late in the afternoon, the sun was beginning to set.Shadows were strong. I was at the base of the summit of MtHood, as you can see I was above the clouds, the mountain is 13,000 feet high. You caN see small peaks of the Cascade mountains in the distance. It was such a wonderfully crisp and pure fresh air afternoon. Thanx for stopping in.

A nice capture Verena! A bit grainy sky and shadow but what's most important - the scenery is great! That and walking around on a high mountain must have made you breathless for a while ;-) I like those travelling clouds. Good work!

Wow, stunning scenery and lighting. I like the way you positioned the foreground trees and how the valley twists it's way into the rest of the picture, nice work.

Cheers...........

Wow! Beautiful image Verena! I love the view above the clouds, and all the lonesome pines and valley just add to its majesty. Excellent work!..=)

Great image.Nice light on the snow in the foreground against the clouds.I think that a border across the top and bottom would really set this off, maybe. Very well done..

Great vista of the fog-embedded valley. I like the warm afternoon light cast upon the trees on the slope of the mountain. So mood-inspiring. I guess the honorable mention in the last contest gave you plenty of motivation and enthusiasm.

Fantastic scenery, i agree a border on this would be nice, maybe theres a litte too much sky compositionally. But the lighting is excellent, and the scene itself is so beautiful, you did a good job of capturing it!

When I saw this one on the home page (one of the three) I thought, "Wow, I want to go there on vacation." I like how the white snow in the background first catches your eye, then allows it to move to the clouds which then pull you around the corner and further into the photo. I think it could use a little stronger contrast but still a beauty of a shot.
