The coloring in this one is outrageously incredible. The softness of the gray-green leaves supporting the blossom and purple flowers in the background combined with the blush of the rose itself is sublimely mystical, while the shapes of the rose petals have a sensuality all their own. Great job. Now somebody get me a glass of ice water....whew!
Lovely contrast in coloring Verena, that's a beautiful rose. With the purple & the green leaves for contrast, you have one gorgeous offering here. It's truly beautiful.
Everything about this photo is great: textures, colors, even the fragrance (just kidding, but it's almost that realistic). Beautiful and extremely well composed and executed.
Very beautiful, Verena! The focus on the rose and combination of colors in the background make for an outstanding shot. You finished it off with a perfect simple frame. High marks on this one, friend.
This is a lovely image Verena! The rose is perfect. The color is so soft and elegant. I love how you captured the rosebuds behind the bloom. The purple blossoms in the background go so well with the color of the rose. The entire image is very pleasing to the eye. I ahve downloaded it to myu favorites folder on my harddrive and jsut set it as my new desktop! You left plenty of rooms for my icons....good job! Thanks :~)
Hi Verena, this is indeed breathtakingly beautiful! It is for certain we share this marvelous interest and pleasure in roses! I have taken notice, and over time it has been well established that this is a glorified truth! But seriously, with your talents and your skills you have glamorized this peach beauty right to 'hall of fame' for roses! I love it and into my favs presently! Very nice photography Verena, You get my top vote today! Sincerely, Marilyn
Verena - This just a great capture. What I like about this image is the combination of fine detail AND wonderful softness. It is VERY difficult to pull that off and you get high marks for this shot. It's in my favorites.
A little something? I just don't tolerate with such modesty! You either shoot out of passion or you don't shoot at all! Photography is about seeing things others can't see.

I guess every girl goes through a photography phase. You know, horses... taking pictures of your feet.

Most flower macros are pretty blah but the angle of this blossom, the vivid colors, the buds and greenery behind the blossom giving it an anchor, and the background with just the right amount of depth-of-field are all so picture-perfect, it looks more like a gallery-quality oil painting than a photograph.
