Here is another view of the monolith Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach, Oregon.By the way, this pic is to the South and the pic with the bench is to the North of the same beach. I took this from a different angle than the norm. The day had beautiful cloud formations and there were just the right amount of people enjoying the day. There was a slight breeze and the air was crisp with a temp of 70 degrees, so it was pretty much perfect. It's the most awesome place to "escape to" when one has all too many worries...thanx so much for being here my friends.

A nice beach even if a little cold and brisk for a tan. A very interesting rock. A good place to let your worries retreat for a while and enjoy nature.

Hum..I think I have seen that rock in many photos before. I love the light fog or ocean spray surrounding it. This is another stupendous sky. The clouds are arranged just right. The color of the blue is perfect. And, I like the perspective from the green knoll. A beautifully constructed ocean scene. Way ta go!

I love the angle on this shot, Verena! Provides breathtaking perspective! This is the kind of shot that makes me feel like I'm in the shot...I can almost feel and smell the air. It has a very refreshing aura to it. Nice work! Wen

Great pic of Haystack, slightly unusual as you said. Cannon Beach is my favorite beach.

Haystack Rock is probably the most photographed thing on the Oregon coast. Your take on it is outstanding. The way the diagonal of the beach leads your eye toward the rock and even the way the clouds have arranged themselves around it make for a spectacular picture. Great work, Verena!

Oh my, Verena, what an unusual shot - and up to your usual very high standard. There is something of interest just everywhere in the frame: one looks around again and again. Great work!

Magnificent capture Verena. To tell you the truth I have already packed my luggage and booked my air ticket... So I am coming soon. I hope there will be some place left for me on that beach? It conveys the summer atmosphere - and the midday sun is so inviting.

This is sensational. What a bizarre rock set like a lump of coal on this sunny beach.
