This old house isn't going to stand much longer I don't think. When I moved into this little valley 2 1/2 yrs ago it looked much better. But it has weathered some years and storms that's for sure. But I loved how it still stands and the Fall colours surround it yet another year. It looks so lonely tho. Sure wish I knew the stories behind it. Thanx so much for looking.

Very fitting "portrait" of this rustic shack in the autumn of its existence. That marvelous sky is a bonus.

Really enjoy the two sides of the image, the dried foreground and the weathered old house. Then there's the beautiful golden leaves against that beautiful sky! Nice work.

Just a beautiful shot X. I think it is one of your very best. I faved it. The colors are really dynamic and the sky is perfect.

Nothing but raves for this one.

I love the way this shack is nestled in the trees, maybe you should acquire it and keep it standing

Excellent work here Lady V. I really wonder if this was used as a church or a school at some point. The way the front entry is constructed makes me think of an old schoolhouse. Another one for my DT Favorites.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could hear all the stories about these old buildings. I think this one needs a bell tower and it could be an old school. Think of all the children who went to country schools, bet they'd have some stories to tell. Really terrific capture again.

Just lovely, Verena! There's a kind of tension between the warmth of the colors and the loneliness of the abandoned building. Nice work. Wen

I really like this picture, and its funny you say something of the stories behind it, because that was the first thing I thought when looking at the house, "I wonder who lived there and all of the memories they had in the house!" This is a great picture, the house and trees compliment each other well! Great job! :)

A beauty from the milky-bloo sky to the tawny grass of last summer... We have a few 'derelict' buildings and houses here too and when I go by them I always ask the question you write about: What kind of stories would they tell if they could communicate? Good one.

Hey Varena!
This old house almost looks like an abandoned school house! It sure is beautiful looking surrounded by all those trees! There is another old school at the intersection of NW Thatcher Rd and NW Kemper Rd There is an old cummunity there but I do not know its name. This old school is just south of Banks.
