In this Arctic Blast we've had, the birdies sure needed some food. So since I had a lot of straw on the planter attached to my house, to cover my herbs, the birds liked that little area. So I cut some boxes down to about 2" and filled them with birdseed. Needless to say we had many birds! I set the box on the straw, and we could watch them from the picture window in the family room.It was great fun. I went out on the front porch//entryway and took many photos of the little birdies, so I'll be sharing them with yu.This little bird loved the 'shelter' of the branches stacked up with snow!! We have, as of today, the 24th 28" of snow on the ground!! It's beautiful. But I've been unable to drive my Cougar for 13 days now!! And we've had no heat//electr. off and on for many days. It's supposed to begin a slow meltdown tomorrow. Hope so!!

I like the lines in this and the silhouette of the bird as well X. Nice post and way to take care of the birds.

A wet duck never flies at night and smells better than a dog of similar wetness. MERRY CHRISTMAS

Nice photo! Good for you to take it, and to feed the birds. I'll be looking for more of the same. Too bad it has to be so cold along with all the beauty.

There is so much snow in that tree, the bird may have to wait till it melts to get out. Cute shot, Verena.

Thank goodness the little birds have place to go when there is so snow. We've gotten more than usual, but not as much you have. I bet you are starting to get cabin fever. I know I would if I couldn't get out. This is a nice capture.

The birds must be happy to find food when the snow is covering everything. Very ice capture!

Beautiful snow capture Verena. Really like the texture of this. These birds look like song sparrows and we feed our birds too.

Another shot that is very beautiful. I would have liked to see the snow brighter but it works well. The bird is a treat. How does that little thing stay warm?????

This is one interesting shot. The snow is thick.
