This is a Koken Barber Chair. This one has been in Bannack since the 1860s. They arms are done in red leather and the tips of the arms are made of white porcelain. Sometimes these chairs were also used for dental work. The Koken Mfg Co actually still has two of these antiques, but not dating back as old as this one.One chair weighed almost 300 lbs. Imagine getting that chair to Bannack in those days! There is actually one fully restored Koken chair in Utah(I googled it) and its value is $5650.00! I hope no one ever finds this one at Bannack! Enjoy this photo, I sure loved it when I saw this chair a few years ago.(I had no idea what gallery to put this in)

Wonderful capture and very interesting background info. Sure hope they won't find it.
Could not help myself... the movie Sweeney Todd came to mind the second I opened this upload.

You could have put it in the religious gallery. There were probably many who prayed they would get out of if alive. Good in sepia again. Nice series you have going X.

Too cool...I can see Clint Eastwood getting his shave before he goes out after the bad guys. Love the textures and tones are excellent.

Great one, sort looks like the one Johnny Depp used in his bloody movie Sweeney Todd. I'm glad to see that there is no one in it. Nice shot again.

Very nice capture. It is amazing how the basic design hasn't changed that much from 150 years ago.

Verena,
Could I ask you, what program you use to get these nice frames? I can't seem to fine anything like it in any program that I have. Any help would be appreicated.

I felt horror the moment I saw this image in VB. For fear I voted 10/10.
LOL
Congratulations, dear Verena.
