I went down to one of the nearby farms the other day to get some free-range organic brown eggs and the chickens were all over the place. It was so sweet that I had to take some photos!! :) There were about 150 chickens running free, cackling and coming right up to my car as tho they knew me! So here were three of the "pretty ladies" clucking away. Thought you just might enjoy a change of pace from my Bannack photos.:)

Very beautiful capture of these lovely ladies! The colors and details are great.
Those eggs must be much better tasting then the ones you can get in a store.

Nice portrait of the hen party. It is so hard to get them photographed as they don't stay still for a second. Love their contrasting colors.

Good shot Lady V. No better eggs anywhere than those. I know because I grew up on them. We sold such eggs for many years on the farm.

Love the title and sure does look like they are clucking about what's happening that day. Great colours and clarity showing such wonderful detail on these very colourful chickens Verena

Just a great title and shot X. Nice change of pace. If it is like most hen parties, everyone is clucking and no one is listening. I like the legs in the avie and I suppose it refers to the chickens. We now must check the breasts and thighs. lol
I only use brown eggs when I make noodles. They give it that deep, yellow richness.

These hens look like they were out for a drink, probably drowning their sorrows, cause the other chicks got their roosters. I am surprised you got them to hold still for this picture. Anyway it's a great shot.

Put a fence in between them and you could imagine what they are clucking about. Nice capture and good clarity with lots of color. Mighty fine post again.

Looks like these three are gossiping. "Did U hear what Matilda was telling the Rooster. She was egging him on" etc. etc.
Nice image Verena.

Hi Venena, i love the name of this picture, it is very appropriate and made me laugh. The composition is lovely and the way that red hen is next to the two black and white ones really adds a shot of colour to the scene. There could be a little more clarity as the actual heads seem just a touch fuzzy but still a great shot!
