A black and white photo I took a few years ago with my Canon AE1 SLR. It was taken at Mt. Hood in the Cascade Mountain Range. Any critique or comments are very welcome. I guess I'll have to get out and take some B&W with my Canon Rebel Digital now.

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??

At first I thought this was one of your illustrations. Simply beautiful, and I love your presentation with the thick frame. Very nice work.

I like this a lot Verena! It looks like an ink drawing. I like your presentation too. Beautiful work that should be hanging on a wall.

Wonderful! At first glance I thought it was one of YOUR drawings, not by camera. I like this a lot, and your frame work certainly adds to it. Great work once again.

This is a tremendously artistic image, very much like a wood cut or an ink drawing. There's a real oriental feel about it - strengthened by the little sapling on the left which almost looks like a Japanese or Chinese letter. It's integral to the comp in any case because what makes this so elegant, I think, is the big mass of black on the right just scarcely balanced by that little shoot on the left. Faved this one - I guess I wish it didn't have such a heavy frame but it's a masterpiece all the same.
