Here is a very simple beach design. Natures creation. So much sand and yet this little blade of grass comes thru. Please comment.

And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

Verena, your image tells me that it will survive, although it's almost covered with sand. Good example for us to never give up!

Nature always amazes me! I am always surprised when vegetation springs up from the most unlikely of places. This is a very lovely piece.

What a lovely picture and i have a bit of geography for your too Verena. The grass that grows through the sand is called Marram Grass and its always the first place to colonise bare sand. Once the grass begins to grow the sand which is blown by the wind catchs and piles up infornt and around the grass creating an embryo dune. As more sand is blown it grows and grows until eventually you have a fully fledged sand dune :)
