Here is a closeup of the seed pods in that strange ol' tree! I wish I could reach one, I'd love to have it. Maybe they'll be falling off the tree soon. Aren't they strange tho?! Let me know your thoughts on the pod and the photo. Thanx so much for taking' a looksee.

I'm wondering what type of tree it is ... I love the golden leaves in contrast with the brown seed pods. The image itself has sort of an abstract quality to it. Wonderful capture Verena.

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??

I love how these rattle in the wind! If you hold one and shake it you can hear the dried seeds rattling around on the inside. Very pretty dark pods against all the bright yellow foilage

This is a really interesting picture, Verena. I don't think I have seen these before. I love the brown and gold colors of the shot. I bet this will make a great desk top. Nice work.

Really cool capture, before looking at the larger image and readying your post I thought it was a family of snakes. Nice one!

It might be a locust tree. But I had a Black Locust tree at my last home, and it didn't have these huge seed pods, it has huge thorns tho, and the tree never got yellow. So maybe this is a type of Locust one tho. I'll try to look it up.

Really nice shot, and they do fall all over the place. Don't know what the tree is called, but we have several around this area. Usually we don't see the beautiful yellow to it though.

I like the two tone abstract feeling. Both in color as well as textures. You have a great eye for diverse subjects.
