This is my entry for the current Chiaroscuro contest. The sun was hitting the snow so perfectly. The snow is only in the Cascades Mountains here and there, the Valley has tons of wind and rain. I'm sure learning a lot, which is good.I never even heard of that word til this contest began ! I wasn't sure what gallery to put it in. I had a hard time decided whether to enter a photo or not. But it was interesting. The snow on this photo wasn't so deep, it had drifts tho.

Guess you had to go to the Cascades to find that snow Verena, I do like how the snow is piled on top and all around the log

I never heard of the "C" word either, still can't pronounce it, and will never get the spelling right. LOL. Excellent entry for the contest V. YOu have nice light and shadows, and I like the color in the wood. Too early for snow for me, but I know it's coming.

Sure you don't have snow down there yet, but have you been blown off the map yet? I keep hearing stories of the winds and rains there. Seaside was flooded from what I hear. Sad! Great picture though, a very good entry!

Snow is in the Cascade Mountain Range, but down here in the Valley it has been extremely windy and rainy!! I heard about 95mph winds at the Coast here. They go thru a lot there. The snow, so far, is only in the mountains. Whew. I love it too, but last year we had 2 1/2 feet at our house...so I can wait a while!!v

It's like the snow is glowing in that fantastic lighting! I'm not anxious for snow, but it always makes a pretty picture at first snow fall :) I like the strong contrast between the rich wood grain and the snow. Excellent capture, and best wishes in the contest, Verena!
