This is my submission to the current contest: Beauty in Decay. It's the inside of one of the old homes left in the ghost town of Bannack, MOntana. This is in the year of 1856. You see one of the other houses thru the window. In many of the homes(and they are not lived in anymore) there are layers and layers of different wallpapers.Paint has also been layers and layers over the years. A few of the homes were still lived in by the fifties, but that's all. It's a most wonderfully peaceful place to visit. A photographers delight for sure.

I think I would want to be outside enjoying the view of that area, Verena. I might even see about taking that beautiful cabin off someones hands. LOL. Beautiful work with the contest entry. I think it has a lot of promise. Good luck.

You have a series of frames. Not just the obvious picture frame, but also the inner frame consentrating on the room and the window framing the view outside. I also love the colors achieved. V, best wishes in the contest. ~~ John

Verena - Oh, the stories we'd hear, if these walls could talk. WIth the house visible through the window, you have portrayed the town's demise inside and out. NIcely done! Thad

A wonderful capture of this old house. I like the colour tint I suspect you applied to the woodwork. The place didn't happen to have a black light by chance. Nice composition and good luck in the contest. ~Wendell

These homes were surely build to last... It's just sad that they were left in such a dying state. There is decay, but still the many layers of paint and wallpaper remain, which was typical and a inexpensive means for beautifying a home. I especially like the angle you took on this, revealing the other house through the window, and the shading! An excellent capture and entry for the contest, Verena! Best Wishes! :)

Hey Verena,
I adore this image,

Lots of mystery in the darker sides on the bottom left,
Lots of stories on the brighter parts,
Nicely done,

Thanks for sharing
Kind regards
