This is my entry for the current DOF contest. This is the wonderful view of the Oregon Coast at the small town called Manzanita, looking down from Neakhani Mountain.To the left of the town is the Coastal Mountain Range, that's why it's foggy appearing. Mists from the Ocean always settle over those mountains.Look at all those whitecaps!! A stormy dramatic day at the great Pacific. Enjoy!!

Certainly a worthy entry, Verena. The foreground wall just as sharply in focus as the waves below. Can't argue with the title either. That is one awesome view.

Verena - I like how the shape of the waves somewhat matches the texture of the stones. Add the mist, clouds and mountains and the scene is wonderful. Well done! Thad

I know right where you were when you took this photo. Dave and I love that place. The whole coastline in that section is beautiful. So did you go all the way to the cheese factory? Seaside to Tillamook is my favorite loop :)

Looks nothing like the shores of Lake Erie. LOL. Gorgeous shot, Verena. I love the way the ocean looks, and I also like the diagonal of the wall. Good luck in the contest.

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??
