The lovely purple violets are something special. Did you know they are edible? And you can coat them with sugar and crystalize them and yum!! Here are a few other flowers that are edible. :: Calendula Carnations, Chrysanthemums , Clover ,Cornflower Also called Bachelor’s button,Sweet Rocket or Dame's Violet, Dandelions,Day Lilies , Apple Blossoms,Citrus Blossoms (orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit, kumquat),Elderberry Blossoms, Fuchsia, Garden Sorrel , Gladiolus , Alliums and if I would ever learn to LINK...but here is the addie for more edible things.... http://whatscookingamerica.net/EdibleFlowers/EdibleFlowersMain.htm This is a simple photo, but one to enjoy. These taste like you might think a Rose petal tastes. So very sweet, Roses are edible too. Even Marigolds, there are many flowers one can eat. You can sprinkle them on cakes or cookies or even salads and soups. Very nice stuff. V

You forgot to mention the little roses on Wedding Cakes. LOL. I know I would have to try some of those delicious looking foofies. I'll eat about anything that doesn't have a warning label on it. Very nice post, Verena.
