1/200sec f14. I thought this froze the water droplets pretty good for 1/200sec. Yet the duck is blurred. Who woulda thought? Anyway, I'm off to try to improve on this down at the river.

nice capture of the shake :) great shot! i think it looks very cool, the droplets are in focus, yet the duck is slightly blurred.

The blur (and the stretching of the tiny drops) gives it the sense of motion - if you'd "frozen" it completely it might look lifeless. Nice capture :-)

lovely shot and the blur is because the duck is shaking so it is a great action shot with great looking water drops

If there was no motion blur in this shot then it would probably not have had the dramatic feel that it has now. The water droplets make for an awesome halo around him. Top work.

Very nice. You needed an even faster shutter but this works. Here the drops can be seen and you sense motion from the duck. Good job.

If they can shake off that quickly, how come it takes them so long to get out of the road! :-) This is a really great capture!! I've always wondered what their shake looks like slowed down (a dog's is pretty humorous) but it looks like they were quicker than the camera could handle. As you said.. Well, since I don't spend a great deal of time around ducks, I never knew they shook the water off their bodies..learn something new every day, so they say. It's an excellent capture, and I'd be hard pressed to add anything new to the accolades above, except to say: Very nice presentation :)PJ
