Some orchids I bought the other day. Does anyone know how to bring them back from sunburn? Looks like the other one I brought home got a sunburned leaf.
i don't know aboutt the other one, but this one is a real winner. thankss for sharing rob. the lighting is great. it must have taken a bit of work to position these flowers. nice job!!!
I know nothing about orchids so I can’t help with the sunburn. However I know a good photo when I see one. I especially like the hint of detail in the background, it looks more natural than jet black.
I'm no orchid expert, and until recently thought they only could be grown in a greenhouse, so you'll have to wait until some of our resident flower garden experts come along, but I certainly can enjoy the beauty of these that you've sent along..great job, my friend. :
they are wonderful, i love orchids, they are such intricated and detailed flowers! great shot of them too, cant help with the sunburn.. u should have sprayed them with factor 50! lol!
~ Gorgeous phal and shot...love the lighting! As for the sunburn, if the leaves are just yellow, moving them out of direct sun may bring them back, but if really burned, they unfortunately won't green up again. But that shouldn't kill the plant and it will set new ones. Easy orchid to grow but as you learned they like to be treated more like African violets than orchids...bright light not full sun, and on the moist side but not too wet and keep water out of the crown. Mine get morning sun filtered through screen and bloom well. Neat trick with phals is that after blooming you can cut the stem above the first flower that bloomed and most times they will set a new bloom stem.
