An old shot I found in my archives from Sedona, Arizona. These red rocks are considered sacred by the Native American tribes that once resided in the area. It is now known that these mountains emit intense magnetic fields. The entire are has a certain energy that can be felt by many people who visit. At one time these rocks stood out of the Pacific Ocean. Bands of fossilized sea shells can still be found on the rocks. This shot was taken right before the sun went down, it peaked out of the clouds for a moment, just long enough for me to get 4 pictures which were stitched together. The next day the rocks were covered in snow and the storm lasted 2 weeks.

What a gorgeous part of the world, and you've done a good job of showing it off. Nicely shot!

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"

Ooooooooooo this is magnificent!!! The drama in that sky along with the sunset colours is absolutely awesome. You said the next day there was snow and a storm for weeks, did you get photos of that too? I hope so. I would love to see those. You did a most wonderful job stitching..I wish I knew what that is and how to do it!! This is really beautiful. Thanx so much. Verena

This image struck a chord with me - I didnt even have to be there you took it so well. The clouds are great, and the mountains are simply majestic bathed in that orangy light.
It reminded me of australia for some reason.

Great image, great story - 10/10

You only get one sunrise and one sunset a day, and you only get so many days on the planet. A good photographer does the math and doesn't waste either. - Galen Rowell

No wonder the Native Americans thought us white men, Washichu, were crazy to think we could own the land. Who could own something with this majesty, this power. Other than a slightly soft focus you've captured the feeling perfectly.

This is absolutely stunning! I love the drama in this shot~ the beautiful bright mountain against the backdrop of an angry black sky. Gorgeous! Just voted a 10 on this one and I had to come back in and see who took it. ~Kim

Wow..high marks in the VB from me...this is just a study on how to capture good lighting. The break in the clouds was perfect to highlight the mountains. Awesome shot, nicely done!!
