This is so well done - and to have it come across as "simple" with all of its fine detail shows your talent. The shading effect is subtle and so effective, the texture adds another subtle interest. The lines you have used add another dimension, and the clear, black silhouettes are fantastic! Nice job.
I know it isn't simple to do, but the effect is wonderfully simple and very appealing/open/approachable. It is very beautiful. I especially like the light in this and the colouring. I personally _might_ prefer it if the foremost dandelion was set back a little, but that may just be me. In any case, it is very effective as it is. There's a certain sadness here - the dandelion losing its finery - and a certain hope - seeds blowing in the wind like shadows of future flowers with the promise of new beginnings. I guess part of this image's appeal is that it manages to say so much with so little.
I am honoured to be listed as a friend or to see an image of mine as a favourite, but I keep lists of neither. This helps me appreciate images uploaded by strangers as well as friends. Please understand that a failure to reciprocate in kind indicates a lack of appreciation for neither gesture nor work.
This is so kewl, and I first saw it in the voting booth. It desrves every bit of the score I see here and more. Your work is always deeper than it appears at first blush, and you can be sure it's tucked away in the file I save just for your renders :)
"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web." Pablo Picasso
i love this! i love the color choice, and the "lighting" around the dandelion itself. love how simple it is, that you didnt try to get too realistic or carried away with different effects. i really like the subtle details like the distant seeds faded out. very nice work! ~abby
