Siberian wooden houses

I live in Irkutsk, center of East Siberia, 60 km from lake Baikal, deepest in the world. Irkutsk has a lot of wooden houses, once beautiful, now quickly degrading, being destroyed by time. I decided to drive around the city and nearest villages and take photos of most unusual houses, before they become history. I am not a professional photographer, but I wanted to do it anyway. I hope you will enjoy the houses as much as I did! This is only one of 70+ wallpapers! Instead of adding them all to wallpapers gallery, I created a special website. For more photos, please visit Siberian wooden houses website: http://www.vladstudio.com/siberianwoodenhouses/ Thanks!

YOur not professional well you could have fooled me. All of your work is outstanding in all aspects. I love this image and will fave it. The textures of the lovely old wooden home is just perfect as are the color tones and then there is your perfect presentation of it. Thanks for the drive around to get some shots of the Siberian Wooden Houses. sandi♥

I got it in the voting booth and just had to comment ;-)
I like the way the grey background enhances the feeling of age and neglect, also the fact that you placed the picture at an odd angle and off the center - it looks like an old photograph hanging somewhere (perhaps in an house just like this).

A worthy project! Your presentation is very fine and has certainly captured my attention. I look forward to exploring the rest of the houses you've captured.

I love how you presented this! A very unique and wonderful old home, it's too bad that no one's interested in restoring it instead of letting them rot :( I look forward to seeing more of these homes from you!
