Great job. If this is one of your first, well... what can I say?
I really like the thought behind this and the way you've combined the different elements. Personally, I might prefer the central symbol to be a bit larger in proportion to the whole, but this might be just because I'm not personally that keen on red. I do feel a little as though what should be the focal point (I assume) doesn't draw me in as much as it should. Also, I feel the colour red should symbolise something here because it stands out and I am not sure what, if anything it does.
But basically, I really like this a lot. Very nicely done and wonderfully inventive to boot.
