Lazy, hazy crazy days of summer....I sure miss them. This is a very pretty little street. It's too bad the background is so light, but I love the greens ;)
yes I remember those days - when was that? lol! seems like ages ago! Lovely picture - maybe turn the exposure down so we can see more detail, but I like the composition Patti

...live well ...love much ...laugh often ..... mygallery
I really laid back and took my time on this one and I cant quite figure out what it is that is missing, after a while I thought I had the answer but I looked again... well here it is I like it I just think.... well, I like it!!!! it is distracting though to look at the unbalanced balanced contrast... I mean it has contrast but it is really busy.. It has spots that are really dark ( threes on the right) and really bright bothersome spots (the sky & street). Did you use a lens hood? maybe a haze filter? that would have changed the lighting result. The street looks neat and clean all the tones of green look good along with the flag and the red flowers on the lamp post. good shot!
Hi Elizabeth, nice to meet you, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to look at Mackinac Island! I have been there a trillion times, and loved it each and every time I visited! I know the exact location of where this was taken, as my husband and myself would run the island often. You sure have brought some favorite memories back to me dear, and thank you! I must not think for David, but I will agree, however, that the heavily contrasted areas here are probably do to the very sunny day, and could I be right? The island is subject to many rather dark days, and taking photos on these darker days would render you a better ballanced photo, I think! I still consider myself a novice........... so perhaps, experitmenting might be another approach! I think you have passed the church and are approaching a very sunny opended area, and will soon turn left to travel the circumference of the island, oh what fun, Elizabeth, please think of me while there! Smiling, Sincerely, Marilyn
Wonderful shot of one of the many private homes there.
I've been on this street a few times. Everyone has to be somewhere and I always wondered how someone was fortunate enough (winters notwithstanding) to live on Mackinac Island.
