Rachel (Horntail) asked to see this in black and white. I know how to remove color, but I'm not sure if that truly makes this black and white. Perhaps you can let me know if you prefer one or the other or if there was a better way to do this. This is my last in the newborn series. Thanks for your patience and all of your nice comments. Here is the other one in case you haven't seen it: Holding Hands

I think the black and white treatment works very well especially in this particular take. The colored version was a little too intense especially around the baby's nail area, but you can't go wrong with an image like this no matter how you treat it, Hilda ...nice job, my friend ;)

Check your PMs Hilda. :o)

I sent you some thoughts and some links for your consideration regarding this image here in a message.

Let me say this though ... both ... both are beautiful, and still highly evocative images for me. :'o)

I like them both, Hilda. I prefer the framing on this one. Btw, is the baby a boy or girl and what is the name?

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I agree with some of the other comments. The black & white version "works" much better. The colors in the color version were a bit intense, but this is much softer. I love it.

Well...I saw the original, then the crop, and now this B/W...all are gorgeous. I like the B/W treatment with the borders on this image, but like many have said...this picture is SO good and loving, that it doesn't matter if it is in color, B/W, or has bordering!!

So beautiful! What a gorgeous shot. The whole series is special. I think the black and white is a better choice for this image (for the reasons PJ stated), but I'm sure your daughter will want them both!!

Great job! The color photo is good. But for subject matter like this I feel B&W is the way to go. As for how to convert to B&W one method I use in Photoshop is not to use the Desat but use Hue/Sat and adjust the Sat down to what look good. Foe instance this photo I think I would leave a hint of blue (for a boy) or pink (for a girl). Just my thought!
