I have a passion for monarchs - they are so remarkable! Monarchs migrate around 1600 miles each year. In the last few years they have lost over 80 million acres of breeding ground and will lose up to a million acres per year more due to increased pesticide use and land development. Think about setting up a waystation for them! You can find the info on the web page listed on the sign.

Ooh Hilda, what a marvelous capture of those beautiful monarchs. I am going to this website and check out what I can do to keep them around in large numbers and provide them a waystation. I understood that genetic engineering in food is also a cause for a decrease in their numbers too.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Good work Hilda, I love these guys too. There is plenty of room for these guys at the Busch wildlife area here in Missouri that will always be there for them.

Ah, so lovely, Hilda..Thanks for sending out the information via the photo. It's a great way for people to just slide on over to the website and see what's available and what's needed. I hope I have enough land to make a small station. I know they come through here, or I assume I'd never see them. It's nice to know that we can contribute in at least some small way to better our Earth :)
