You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

What a beautifully unique way of expressing Winter, Hilda! I have some beech trees in my yard. I come to think that there is something valiant about them because they keep many of their leaves all winter long, even through the snow and ice. Your oak leaves look every bit as strong and sturdy as their name implies!

~ I never thought that brown leaves were pretty, but this shot is so lovely & artistic with the snow & ice that I've changed my mind! Great shot Hilda...and ditto to the ones who say you have a great eye for this!
:)
Wonderful shapes and colours Hilda - like this a lot (and thanks for reminding me what ice looks like, the only ice I'm seeing is in my gin and tonics!)
Thanks to all my friends for the wonderful images I get to look at and learn from on Caedes every day. I always have something to say about them, but don't always have the time to record it. Please forgive me if I can't comment on all of your uploads.
This is a lovely macro, and your idea of catching the brown tones in the matte makes the image warm rather than cold which is what one would expect from the ice forming on the leaves. The shapes you captured in the ice are quite interesting too, and your composition allows them to feature prominently. Well done, and congratulations on being the featured artist.
