I couldn't really think of a title other than "Mauna Kea" or "Mauna Loa" but realized that what I liked most about the photo was the varied natural earth tones of these volcanos, hence the title. If you look at the distant Mauna Loa, you can see lava flows of varying ages. The newer the flow, the blacker it is. For scale, the longest lava flows coming down the middle of Mauna Loa are about 15 miles in length! The lava flow at the far right of the photo (you can barely see it) continues about 40 miles to the right all the way to the ocean, and came from an 1859 eruption. Imagine how many eruptions had to take place to create this place! No adjustments were made other than a little sharpening. Shot at f/16, 1/125, ISO 200, 24mm.
