I've found I've been able to make interesting photos through post processing my overexposed exposures...as long as there is enough there. In this case, I overexposed it just enough to actually get some detail in the shadows, and jacked up the fill light and recovery to get things in balance a bit....a pseudo HDR technique for only one exposure. Mt. Whitney, in the distant center, is the tallest mountain in the lower 48 states and about 11,000 feet above me.
