Another day in the life of a hard working pollinator.



EDIT: Jun 17 2011: This is not a bee. Bees have four wings this one has only two. It is a Flower Fly. This particular kind is known as a Drone Fly or European Hoverfly.

This is a real beauty. I feel like I too am in the shelter of this huge umbrella of a sunflower. Perfect focus.

Can't say the 'pollinator' is humble by choosing a sun flower. It has still a lot to do DP, lol.

What a most lovely photo!! Have you noticed how the little bee looks like he is wearing a striped shirt and suspenders??!! hehe Such a gorgeous closeup of the sunflower and then the bee doing its work, you truly captured this moment so very well. So bright and cheerful. I especially like that you did NOT center the sunflower on the photo. I love how you got it offcenter. That's very elegant and perfect for showing the whole thing off.
