This DC-10, as far as I am aware, is the only jet-engined fire bomber around. This was during California's nasty fire season, summer of 2008. From the back porch, mind!
This was either my second or third photograph taken underwater. The outcropping of rocks was some 30 feet below the surface, at Santa Cruz Island in Southern California. Most importantly, the two creatures here (plus a swirling of eggs) are Spanish Shawls, exposed-gill sea slugs, more technically called nudibranchs.
