Taken at the Cleveland Metro Park Zoo inside the Butterfly Green House. The proper name is Caligo Eurilochus Brasiliensis. I believe this is a female based on the coloring of the wings. The most splendid thing about this butterfly is that the other side of their wings are deep blue and almost phosphorescent. Thanks in advance for any and all comments.
This picture was taken in my hometown. This is Firestone Park, Coumbiana, Ohio. Columbiana is the birthplace of Harvey S. Firestone the founder of Firestone tires. I worked in this park, along with many other adventures, as a kid. To see a Great Blue Heron in the middle of our duck pond is a real treat. This was taken at the Cleveland's Tall Ships event on Lake Erie. I wanted to get in early to catch the early morning light but wasn't able to talk the guard into it. I snuck around back of a warehouse and caught this shot. Hope you enjoy. Thanks in advance for any and all comments.
This is either a Wolf Spider or a Fisherman Spider. Any assistance here is appreciated. This guy was very friendly. I spent about a half hour photographing him. Another pic from my Minister Creek backpack trip. This was on the side of a large rock covered with moss. There were Shamrocks everywhere growing out of the moss. This was one of two bunches that had flowers. Thanks for all of the past and future comments. They help me so much.
This was the 1st part of an all day hike at Raccoon Creek State Park in Pennsylvania. When I go back I found a two other spot to get the sunrise from that might out do this one. This is a very beautiful park worthy of a visit if you can. Thanks to all for your feed back in advance.
This was taken on my way back to Ohio from Arizona in March. It's an old gas station on Rt 66 In Glenrio, TX. Glenrio sets right on the Texas and New Mexico boarder. The town and Rt 66 died when they built Instate 40. This might be all that is left of the town. When I was there they were demolishing the other buildings. If you go into Google Earth and type in Glenrio TX you will see a red 360. Click on that. It will give you a 360 view of the gas station from under the awning. It's very cool. This is a small boardwalk on the Lake to Lake trail in the Cleveland Ohio, Metro Parks System. Such a beautiful area. Up on the boardwalk and looking to the left of this picture is a very peaceful wet land. Great place for a morning walk. Thanks to all for any and all comments.
Taken at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. There were actually 12 ducks plus the mother. I was taking their picture and something startled them and they all looked left at the same time. I cropped down on this group. The mother let me get within a few feet. Thanks in advance for any and all comments.
This is the Wild Flower Reserve in Raccoon Creek State Park, PA. What a beautiful place. Didn't see many wild flowers but I did see many beautiful vistas. Thanks in advance for your comments. They are greatly appreciated.
